Edmonds Reflection

As my spring quarter comes to a close at WWU I’m gearing up to present my group’s findings to the city of Edmonds. This time, a week from now I’ll be giving my first public presentation outside of an academic setting. Pretty nerve wracking.

Looking back at all the work we’ve put in for the past 3 months I’m incredibly impressed with ourselves. I was lucky to be put in an easy going group, we all respected each other and our take on the research; even with bumps in the road with conflicting personalities. I feel so lucky to have had the chance to work with such amazing people at WWU and within Edmonds.

I can’t say I had many hardships, but I did have many challenges this quarter. This blog being one of them. Never had I intended to start a blog, let alone actually enjoy writing one up. Looking forward I will do my best to keep up with it. Hopefully work more on some personal research on mental health. this summer I will be taking some classes, medical anthropology, and cyborg anthropology, so hopefully, there will be more to see here about those subjects.

Beyond just this blog and Edmonds, this class has made me realize how much I would love to get an MA. Just one more thing I never imagined for myself. Like most students on track for a BA, going beyond that seemed impossible. Now I wonder to myself if I would be doing myself a disservice by not moving forward in my education. Then again, that sounds really egotistical, doesn’t it?
